Building Our Community Together

Join us in our vision of a Southeast Raleigh where our history and culture are acknowledged and celebrated, structural barriers are removed, and all residents have access to pathways to achieve full success and prosperity.

We work with our neighbors to build the promise of a brighter future.

Systemic barriers, a history of racially biased policies, and a lack of equitable investment in Southeast Raleigh neighborhoods have prolonged intergenerational poverty for our residents.

As a local expression of the Purpose Built Communities model, we partner to create equitable opportunities that lead to improved outcomes for individuals, families, and children in our community.

How we Collaborate With Members of The Community

The foundation of our work is grounded in leadership development where all individuals, youth, and families are positive agents of change and are civically ready with the skills necessary to drive long-term individual and community success.

Our Approach

Neighborhoods need holistic support to create pathways of opportunity for all residents. We follow an innovative place-based partnership model from Purpose Built Communities that focuses on four essential pillars to foster healthy neighborhoods:

SERP Housing Icon

Mixed-Income Housing & Real Estate

We work to ensure access to safe, high-quality, and affordable housing for renters and homeowners.

SERP Health & Wellness Icon

Health & Community Wellbeing

We are committed to addressing health disparities and improving health outcomes for residents.

SERP Education Icon-1

Cradle to Career Education

We advocate for children to obtain an education that ensures social connectivity, self-efficacy, and post-secondary credentials with labor-market value.

SERP Economic Mobility Icon

Economic Vitality

We connect members of the community to employment, entrepreneurship, wealth creation, and economic advancement opportunities.

A Milestone to Celebrate and a Champion to Commemorate!

We are thrilled to share that we have officially moved into our new offices at the Beacon Site! This incredible milestone would not have been possible without the steadfast support of our partners and friends like you. Thank you for the many ways you have championed us and the development of the Beacon Site over the past 10+ years. Together, we have much to celebrate!
