Cradle to Career Education

Building a connected education pathway that starts early, removes barriers, and prepares students for long-term success.

How We Move
Education Forward

Educational progress does not happen through isolated programs.
It happens when a community aligns around shared priorities and stays committed over time.

WE CONNECT

We align families, school leaders, district partners, early learning providers, and higher education institutions around what students need most.
From pre-K through high school, connection
ensures opportunity is coordinated,
and challenges are visible.

Housing

WE CONVENE

School leaders, community partners, district representatives, and parents meet consistently through the Southeast Raleigh Elementary Steering Committee and cross-sector partnerships. Shared data and shared goals focus collaboration on achievement, attendance, school climate, family engagement, and career readiness.

WE CATALYZE

Shared priorities become coordinated action. Transportation barriers are addressed, early learning access is strengthened, and career pathways are expanded - so students graduate prepared for what comes next.

Where the
Work Begins: Southeast Raleigh Elementary

At the heart of this pillar is Southeast Raleigh Elementary, the neighborhood school serving children who live on and around the Beacon Campus.

We convene the Southeast Raleigh Elementary Steering Committee each month, bringing together school leadership, district representatives, the YMCA, community partners, and parent voices.

The committee focuses on four shared priorities:

Family engagement

The result is steady improvement - and a school community that is increasingly aligned around what students need to thrive.

Early Learning: Starting Strong

Success begins before kindergarten.

The Beacon Campus includes four pre-K classrooms, two of which are operated by Telamon, which also provides family-centered supports. Expanding access to early learning strengthens school readiness and creates continuity for neighborhood families from the start.

Extended Learning & Academic Enrichment

Learning continues beyond
the school day.

Through Club Roar, our after-school partnership with Southeast Raleigh Elementary and the YMCA, students receive academic support and structured engagement. Addressing barriers like transportation increases access and participation, while improved outcome tracking strengthens long-term impact.

Middle School, High School & Career Pathways

Cradle-to-career extends beyond elementary school.

We work to strengthen the pipeline into middle school,
high school, and beyond by expanding access
to Wake Tech's Career and College Promise pathway
and supporting career-aligned programming,
including biotechnology tracks.

Measuring What Matters

Activity alone is not enough

We are deepening its focus on outcomes — identifying the metrics that reflect meaningful progress for students and families. By aligning data with shared priorities, we can better understand what is working, where barriers remain, and how to strengthen long-term impact.

Educational change is cumulative.
The work builds year after year.

Community partners
provide support

We work to align their efforts for students in our community.

By maintaining structure, continuity, and long-term commitment, we help the education ecosystem function as a connected system — so opportunity is not fragmented and progress compounds over time.
