The Beacon Site Celebrates 5 Years

The last Saturday of April was a moment to remember.
On April 26, we joined with our partners, funders, supporters, and community, to celebrate a major milestone: the 5-Year Celebration of the Beacon Site and the completion of Raleigh/Wake County’s first Purpose Built Communities model!
The 32-acre Beacon campus along Rock Quarry Road is home to our Southeast Raleigh Promise headquarters. We were proud to host this special event alongside our anchor partners: the Southeast Raleigh YMCA, Southeast Raleigh Elementary School, DHIC (developers of Beacon Ridge Apartments), and Self-Help (developers of Beacon Point commercial/retail space and Self-Help Credit Union).
It was truly an honor to stand together with our partners, elected officials, and longtime supporters to celebrate 14 years of visioning, planning, and building all rooted in collaboration and shared purpose. We also dedicated the James P. West Suites for Nonprofit Excellence, located within our Beacon Point space and named in honor of West’s lasting impact as a longtime Southeast Raleigh resident and community leader.
At Southeast Raleigh Promise, we are committed to working alongside our neighbors, partners, and funders to ensure that Southeast Raleigh residents have access to opportunities to grow, thrive, and prosper.
