Partnership Brings Free Estate Planning Services to Southeast Raleigh
We are proud to continue our partnership with Legal Aid of North Carolina and Smith Anderson Law Firm to host free Wills & Estates Clinics.
Over the past two years, about 25 residents have created wills, power of attorney documents, and medical directives – completely free of charge. These services, valued at roughly $1,500 per person, provide peace of mind, protection, and help prevent future estate issues, said James Jolley, a partner in the law firm. The clinics also support Smith Law’s pro bono commitment to Raleigh residents, while helping Legal Aid connect with and serve eligible clients, he added.
Participants have expressed their gratitude and relief for the expert guidance they received throughout the process. We are glad to help our neighbors take the important first steps in estate planning, recognizing this is just the beginning. As we grow the program, we hope to expand our offerings so residents can learn more about the process, including resources to help residents better understand and explore trusts and other long-term planning options.
Stay tuned for dates, and eligibility and registration details for 2026 Clinics.
